“Franciacorta” designated an area of the province of Brescia, which extends to the west of the city between the rivers Oglio and Mella which border to the east and west, north having the hills of Brione, Polaveno, Monticelli Brusati and Iseo Lake, and south the high Po valley top.

The hills are now home to the vineyards of the famous “bubbles”, they are landscapes still fascinating. The presence of the monks in the Middle Ages has left important traces of their presence and their work, the curious visitor can still find in Franciacorta churches and monasteries are open to visitors in many municipalities of Franciacorta and with beautiful palaces and villas, often host salt in their presentations and events around art and wine. Iseo Lake is worth a visit. While it boasts a long history, the new course of winemaking in Franciacorta began in effect at the beginning of the sixties with the strartof the first winery, which was followed by a moment of great development in the seventies.
From there, growth was rapid until you get to today’s Franciacorta wine area Italian national points of reference as regards the production of classic method. The production and marketing of sparkling wine there has been becoming increasingly important in the last two decades, much to boast the DOCG label and become known in the world of wine for the high quality achieved.
The name “Franciacorta” has over time become synonymous with the same sparkling DOCG wines produced in the many vineyards in the area.
The land has glacial origin; the presence of stones moraine is a positive factor, because the stones store the sun’s heat during the day to sell it at night; moreover the gravelly soil ensures the drainage of excess water which may be harmful to the roots of the plant and affect the quality of the grapes.
The grapes provided by the production are: Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir.
